Doing good with pleasure
The feel-good hotel Alte Rebschule has been supporting an important social project with its foundation wine since 2021.
Hannelore & Stephan Hafen and Sonja & Bernd Schäfer founded the "Alte Rebschule Foundation" in 2021. It makes a charitable contribution to social commitment. Each founder of the foundation has chosen a personal cause, which is symbolically represented on the wine label:
- Development cooperation in Africa, particularly in Kenya and Tanzania
- Nature and environmental protection in the Rhodt unter Rietburg region
- Local history, art and culture in and around Rhodt unter Rietburg
- Promoting young talent in regional sports clubs
The foundation's objectives are realized through one-off or ongoing donations. We generate our first proceeds for the foundation with the sale of our foundation wine 2023, so you can do good sip by sip, bottle by bottle with pleasure and participate in the Alte Rebschule Foundation. The vineyard directly in front of the hotel produces a dry Rivaner, the proceeds of which flow into the "Alte Rebschule Foundation" at €4 per bottle.
The wine is available at the reception of the feel-good hotel Alte Rebschule in Rhodt and at the Bernd Schäfer winery in Edenkoben.

Owner Stephan Hafen has been supporting social projects in East Africa for many years. Here, he maintains personal contacts and close relationships and collects donations for children and young people in Kenya on a voluntary basis. These contacts also bring young Kenyans to the Palatinate. People who are passionately there for you today and in the future.

We have been to the "Alte Rebschule" several times and it has always been TOP. Starting with breakfast, through the snack to the 4-course menu in the evening, which is always excellent. Here you can find peace and quiet from the stress of everyday life.
The Hotel Alte Rebschule near Rhodt unter Rietburg is beautifully situated in the vineyards and offers a lovely view over the Rhine plain. The room was very nice, especially large and nicely furnished. The staff were friendly and attentive.
