Palatinate Impressions

The picturesque wine growing village of Rhodt is not only situated below the Rietburg castle but it is also very close to the Villa Ludwigshöhe which the Bavarian king Ludwig I had built because he wanted to have an official residence in the „most beautiful square mile” of his empire. Today, his villa is a regional museum that exhibits paintings by the famous Palatinate impressionist Max Slevogt.

King Ludwig was a true trendsetter as more than a hundred years later people still keep coming here just because it is so beautiful. If you walk along the Theresienstraße in Rhodt up to the Alte Rebschule you will realise that the picture postcard does not do it justice. Life here is even better when experienced hands-on.
